Two groups of works on paper:  In the first, I limit myself to only black, white and brown media, allowing a focus on gesture, value, shape, texture etc. without the distraction of  color. In the second, I use color and mixed media in series, where all pieces are worked on at the same time, using the same sequence of materials on each one. These drawings all relate in some way to my paintings, but I don’t regard them as studies.  Rather, they stand on their own as a distinct form in the creative process. The small, intimate scale, and immediacy of execution, allows the drawings to be like fleeting thoughts captured quickly.
